According to Forbes, if there was anything more predictable than Diddy’s name change, it’s his top position in the list of World’s Wealthiest Hip Hop Artists. Diddy, who was formerly known as Sean Combs has the net worth of $820 million – just $10 million more than Jay Z who’s looking all set to defeat the snatch the top spot from the rapper.

Diddy’s just closed a successful deal with Diego’s Ciroc vodka and has secured the “numero uno” spot yet again this year. But who knows what future has for the rap-king. With more than half a year left, expectations of fans are growing and they’re waiting to see if Diddy will become the first billionaire. On the other hand, with Jay Z having successful deals with Roc Nation, and a popular champagne brand, Armand de Brignac, he may cast a spell on Diddy’s first spot for the wealthiest hip hop artist.

But Sean “Diddy” Combs knows how to stay at the top of the food chain, because he’s been there for the past six years. Other than Diego’s Ciroc, Diddy has a deal with Bad Boy Reunion Tour that put together some popular acts on the Bad Boy Entertainment. Plus, he has stakes in TV network Revolt and alkaline water brand, Aquahydrate and tequila DeLeon.

Upon co-purchasing DeLeon in 2014, Diddy told Forbes that he and Larry Schwartz, President Diego North America have a proven track record which is why he got interested in tequila in the first place. Schwartz explained that Diddy is obsessed with DeLeon and we got impressed after seeing his impressive track record. But when it comes to making more money than any other venture, Diddy is counting on Revolt TV. He believes that the network will make him a billionaire.

Other three positions belong to these individuals:

⦁ Dr. Dre, who is unable to make it to the billionaire’s club, but still he received a handsome cut from the sales of Beats to Apple. He currently has a third position with $740 million.

⦁ Birdman Williams is the co-founder of Cash Money Records. He sits at the fourth place with $110 million.

⦁ Rapper Drake is sitting comfortably on the fifth spot with $90 million.

The competition is quite open for the top two contenders because it’s just the matter of “One good deal” and they could possibly hit that magical billion-dollar spot.
