Tekashi69 in the works on dropping a Spanish album

What would you do if a clown started to rap to you in Spanish? Sounds like a crazy question – until you hear that this twisted fantasy may become a dark reality.

Recently released on Instagram, none other than Tekashi69 has been reportedly cooking up a new Spanish album – no for real, he will be rapping in Spanish.

Drawing on his routes, Tekashi’s mom is Mexican and father is Puerto Rican, making this native-lounge album actually somewhat interesting. (Quick side note, why the hell is this guy saying the “n word” so much if he is completely Latino?? AND getting away with it for that matter…but that, I suppose, is another story)…

The video shows Tekashi in what looks like a board meeting with his label execs from either Universal Music Group or Caroline. While 6ix is dancing around, these stuffy businessmen in their suits and slicked back hair awkwardly bounce along to the beat like their wall-hugging at a party. That being said, from what it looks like, they dig the music.

Another video was released of the Bushwick native trapping out on top of what looks like a Beverley Hills mansion to the unreleased summer time slap. Minus the growing dad-bod of Mr.6ix9ine, it actually sounds like a decent piece of music. From the flowing rhythmic melody with obvious routes in hip-hop (especially when Tekashi comes in), the song is clearly of the Reggaetón genre.

This culture collision makes sense. Reggaetón was huge in the 90’s and came out of Puerto Rican streets, which eventually permeated into the United States. Growing up with heavy influence from his mom, the 8th-grade dropout was constantly exposed to the upbeat and groovy sounds of the musical style. .

His age plays a role as well. Headlining names in the current Reggaetón space include Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, Pitbull and Sean Paul (hell yeah, homeboy is making a comeback). All of these
