It’s no secret that Lil Uzi Vert and Rich The Kid have been beefing for awhile. But now with RTK previewing a diss track that looks to absolutely ANNIHILATE Lil Uzi, things are really heating up.
In the Instagram Live video, we see Rich The Kid in the studio, bumping to his new track. It’s a DJ Mustard beat, which begs the question- is DJ Mustard going to get involved in this beef too? He hasn’t really had much industry contact with Lil Uzi Vert, other than remixing his hit song ” xo Tour Llif3″.
Here’s some of the bars Rich The Kid spits over the preview-
You lil ni**as, my check bigger
Can’t flex ni**a, can’t bet witcha
Teach ya how to be a boss, top dropped off,
Motherfuck the fame I done came to the vault.
All them dead friends, you a middle man, you a little man,
Your money getting shorter, my bitch from ‘cross the water
Teach ya how to count it, all about it, better boss up
His reference to “dead friends” is an obvious callout to Lil Uzi’s song Xo Tour Llif3 where “All my friends are dead” is a prominent lyric spoken throughout the track.
His next Lil Uzi jab comes up at the line
” Your money gettin’ shorter”
this is an obvious reference to Lil Uzi’s song “Money Longer”.
While Rich The Kid never explicitly mentions Lil Uzi’s name, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out the song is about him.
Let’s back up a little bit and talk about how this all started.
The beef began in January when Lil Uzi was complaining on Twitter about his label Generation Now, and how he wishes he hadn’t signed with them.
DJ Drama, ( the founder of “Generation Now”) fired back at Lil Uzi, but he wasn’t the only one to do so.
Not long after, Rich The Kid tweeted at Lil Uzi saying,
“That’s why you should of signed Rich Forever…..”
Lil Uzi responds with a nasty burn, saying
“Boy I’m not signing for 20 racks”
The vampire bat emoji was a nice touch there. After all- 20,000 bucks to a rapper is pretty much chump change.
Earlier this month, Rich The Kid was asked about his relationship with Lil Uzi, and he said that he wouldn’t sign him to his label for “personal reasons”.
Lil Uzi fired back by posting an Instagram pic with him and a giant grab. In the picture, he tagged Rich The Kid as the crab.
Not to be outdone, Rich The Kid commented saying ” aw, look at my son Lil Uzi Vert tryna look just like me”.
Most likely, RTK is referring to Lil Uzi’s matching green dreads.
So all in all, we’ve got us a HOT beef. We’re looking forward to hearing the rest of the RTK’s diss track- but it looks like we’ll have to wait until March 30th, which is when his debut album “The World Is Yours” comes out.
If it comes out sooner than that, you’ll hear about it from us- so stay tuned!
