The tables have turned. Tekashi 69 scored 3 consecutive underground hits “Gummo”, “Kooda” and “Scum Life” officially are on fire.
And to top it all off, he hasn’t even released a mixtape yet.
In a recent Instagram video post, he shows off his stack of cash ( it was impressive) and talks about how Trippie Redd should “be careful who he disses” because “bridges burn and tables turn”.
This was seemingly posted in response to the video Trippie posted dissing Tekashi, saying he has more followers, video views, and money than him.
The two rappers have been beefing for some time now- but it wasn’t always that way.
How it started:
At first, the two rappers began as friends, as they were labelmates under Strainge Music. For those unfamiliar, it’s run by Elliot Grange- son of Universal Media Group CEO Lucian Grange. The two rappers even collaborated on “A Love Letter To You” and “Owee”.
Anyway, the tension began last August when rumors came out that Tekashi had sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl.
Trippie called him a “pedophile” and decided that he’d rather die than touch Tekashi with a 10-foot pole.
Soon after, Court documents came out, revealing that a man named Daniel Hernandez pleaded guilty to three counts of sex with a minor. Tekashi 69’s real name is Daniel Hernandez, although it was never proved if this was in fact the SAME Daniel Hernandez. In an Instagram video Tekashi said if he were guilty, he would have gone to jail for it.
To this day, we still have no idea what really happened.
Anyway, a few months later in November, Trippie posted a photo Tekashi holding hands with some random guy.
He captioned it ” Raaaaaape Gaaaaang” – seemingly indicating that Tekashi 69 is a homosexual, and a rapist.
Shortly after, Trippie got attacked in a New York hotel by some thugs associated with Tekashi.
He detailed the event in an Instagram live video:
“Bro a bitch. Bro had ni**as waiting for me at my hotel. Some Nine Trey [a New York set of the Bloods] ni**as,” said Trippie, in the video. “Soon as I walk in the building, hit right in my mouth, ni**a. Then my ni**as beat his ni**as’ asses and then they ran. I chased the ni**as mostly myself, I ran them ni**as down myself.”
Shortly after this- Tekashi commented on Trippie’s “Rape Gang” photo, saying
“This is the same reason u got punched in ya mouth….You never learn. I wish you all the success Trip. Big fan. Always will be”
Tekashi is one passive aggressive dude. But the way he’s so nice….almost apologetic- makes the whole interaction kind of adorable.
You would expect him to be a complete savage with his replies- and instead you get ” I’m a big fan?”
It’s freaking weird.
So now the question remains…..
Will Tekashi 69 and Trippie Red ever squash their beef?
Or will things get worse from here?
Stay tuned to find out!
