In honor of the victims from the recent Douglas High school shooting in Parkland Florida- XXX released a song on February 21st entitled “Hope”.
Shortly after, it was flagged for removal on SoundCloud. According to XXX, SoundCloud has been doing this to many of his songs, consistently sabotaging them just as they are about to reach a number 1 trending spot on the charts.
He is fed up, and is vowing to never upload music on SoundCloud again.
This is what he posted on IG-
“I am never, and I repeat never uploading to SoundCloud ever again, I am tired of being sabotaged off of the charts, this is the third time a fake claim has been made on one of my songs, sorry kids, SoundCloud removed my song “hope,” if you want to listen to my music from now on you’re going to have to go to Spotify or Apple, I’m done with SoundCloud.”
Normally, we wouldn’t be surprised to hear that XXX got one of his songs flagged on SoundCloud. Many of them contain explicit and violent lyrics.
But “Hope?” We think it shows a new side of XXX. One certainly worth hearing.
Here is “Hope”.
Honestly, we’re surprised this one was removed. It’s a beautiful tribute. There is a swearing ( although minimal) and the theme of the song itself is not explicit at all. It’s also a nice reminder that XXX is not only an extremely talented rapper, but a solid singer as well.
This is a fact not commonly talked about in the community, and we’re scratching our heads to figure out why. He has the same versatility as Drake, but his singing style is all his own. For more evidence, check out his song “Revenge”, where he comes up with some seriously catchy harmonies.
Anyhow, here’s the lyrics to “Hope”. You let us know if you think there’s a good reason why the song was removed from SoundCloud. We can’t find one:
Yeah, rest in peace to all the kids that lost their lives in the Parkland shooting, this song is dedicated to you
Okay, she keep cryin’, she keep cryin’ every single night
Day and night, on my mind, please don’t kill the vibe
Oh no, I swear to God, I be in my mind
Swear I wouldn’t die, yeah, we ain’t gonna—
Said I wouldn’t die, yuh, no, I’m not alright, yuh
I might start a riot, yuh, I’m so fuckin’ tired, yuh
So what’s up? What you say? Feelin’ good, I’m feelin’ great
Tired of the fuckin’ hate, stackin’ cheese all on my plate
So outside of my misery, I think I’ll find
A way of envisioning a better life
For the rest of us, the rest of us
There’s hope for the rest of us, the rest of us
What do you think, will SoundCloud reconsider and put “Hope” back up? Is XXX really gone from SoundCloud for good?
Stay tuned to find out!
